We started this site as an inspiration for ourselves, and bloggers everywhere, to keep blogging on the side. If you are here, you probably find yourself passionate about blogging, so you probably know how difficult it can be to figure out the right balance between blogging and the priorities of everyday life.
Becky, and I love blogging. We love to inspire our readers and help people through our writing, but we also have to make a conscious effort not to let the blogging take over our lives. There is so much to obsess over and always something that needs to be changed, edited, optimized or promoted. It’s a wonderful kind of overwhelming but we’ve all made the commitment to keep it on the side, with our families and our faith taking center stage in our lives. Always.
So today’s post is for all the bloggers who want to stand with us, and commit to keep the blog on the side. Regardless of how large (or small) our blogs may become. In spite of the numerous readers that may stop by our sites, and the thousands of people we want to inspire and encourage. We commit to keep family and faith first. To never push our children to the side for the sake of publishing one more post or tweeting something witty. To never write something inspiring at the expense of having an chat with our husbands. To pray first, to play first and clean first, to keep the writing in it’s proper place, behind the more important things, that real life offers (even when those important things feel anything but lovely).
So here’s the commitment to keep the important things first. Sometimes blogging needs to be a priority. For many of us, it is a way that we help to support our families, and pay some bills, but even with that, it can still stay on the side, and that’s where we endeavor to keep it!
