Blogger Interview – Nicole

We’re back with another fun interview for  you today!
Nicole's winter shot
Hello BOTS readers! My name is Nicole Risinger, and I blog at A Living Sacrifice. My goal is to share organizing tips, info about my etsy shop, and most of all how to balance it all while living the Christian life. I am the oldest of 6 kids, ranging in age from 25 (hint: thats me!) to 2…yep, you read that right. Thanks to the BOTS gals for having me here!

What is your blogging niche? Do you think it is important for bloggers to keep to one or two topics, or do you think it is okay for one person to cover multiple categories on one blog? Why?

As I mentioned, I try to blog about living the Christian life, organizing tips, and how I’m developing my own Etsy shop, So Sew Organized. I said try for a reason. 🙂 When I started my blog, I just wanted a creative outlet, and a way to keep in touch with some college friends. I used toblog about life, including any and everything that was happening. I had no plan, and no goals for a future in blogging. As I’ve continued, my blog has grown and I saw the need to have more of a purpose for my blog. Over time, I’ve slowly been making the transition to more of a specific niche. I still could use some improvement in this area, but I’m pleased with the direction my blog is taking!

Do you have a blogging schedule? or just write as you feel inspired? Share what works for you and why!

I used to blog 5 days a week, but since I’ve narrowed my niche a little I blog less. I average 3 posts a week, and for now that is working well! My life has gotten a bit crazier in the past few months, so I need a blogging schedule that is flexible for whatever my week holds.

Do you have any pieces of advice for other bloggers?

Just do it! Your blog might not be the most beautifully designed space on the www, but if you don’t start now you never will. You might think you don’t have anything spectacular to share, and you might be right. But if you don’t start, your style and voice won’t be able to develop into something that is worth reading. You can work on being perfect later…just get yourself out there first! Just begin, right now…I’m cheering you on!
Maybe you have started blogging, but something is holding you back from taking the next leap. Want to monetize your blog? Want to contribute a guest post? Want to publish an eBook? There are a hundred ways we bloggers can take strides in a good direction. Just. Do. It!
