Blogger Interview Misty

Hi! I’m Misty and I blog at Joy in the Journey. My blog is about finding the joy in the everyday moments of motherhood. Whether it be cleaning a toilet bowl, wrangling my three kids while homeschooling, working from home, or finding time to connect with my spouse, joy can be found in every moment.

How do you balance blogging time & Family Time?

I I set aside 3-4 hours each day to write (freelance or blog). I do this early in the morning before the kids get up, then again at my youngest naptime while the girls watch educational TV, finish school, or read.

What are your top 3 blogging goals? How are you striving to reach them?

One of my blogging goals is to continue growing my blog. I would love to one day freelance just because I want to, not because I have to, so growing an income with my blog would be great! I love to write and my main blogging goal is to encourage mothers from all walks of life. Moms in general try to do too much, and it is easy to let our to do lists outweigh the joy we can find just in being a mom! I have to admit that my heart lies with helping homeschool moms and work at home moms because we have so much on our plate that it is easy to get weighed down. I hope to write a book this next year on finding a way to “Balance it All”. I need to figure it out for myself first though!

Share a link to your favorite post you’ve ever written. Why is it your favorite?

My favorite post on the blog by far is “When Your Heart Says More Babies, But Your Spouse Says No”. That post was on my heart for months, and I never thought I would actually write it. When God said, “go”, I wrote and it broke my heart. That post was therapy for me, and honestly helped me overcome the ache I had been feeling for months. The response was overwhelming and had me in tears every day for at least 2 weeks. It was nice to know I wasn’t alone in my feelings, and that I was able to help so many moms going through the same feelings.
