Today we are interviewing Becky from Tales of Beauty for Ashes!
My name is Becky and I blog at Tales of Beauty for Ashes. I have been blogging since 2011, but I didn’t really get serious until about a year later (if you look at my archives, you will see that. It’s a little embarrassing). I blog about marriage to my hunky hubby, parenting two under two and other stay at home mama stuff.
One piece of advice I want to give to other bloggers is write about what YOU want to write about. If you lose sight of why you started the blog and what you love writing about, then it doesn’t seem worth it to continue blogging. I have written two posts in this series, Mama’s Time Out. It is a series of journal prompts for the tired and weary mom. They don’t gather comments and I haven’t received many pins on them. However, I love that series for ME.
Balancing family and the blog is difficult at times. It is really helpful that I have a husband who is extremely supportive. If I am desperate, he will take the kids and watch them while I work. However, I always want to make sure that my family comes first. That means that if someone is sick and needs me, then the blog goes by the wayside. Most of the time, though, I blog while the kids are napping and that helps me get things done without too many distractions.
