Welcome back to another wonderful interview! This week we’re talking with Jillian!
Hi! My name is Jillian Robertson. I am the mom of eight year-old triplets, and wife to a doctor in residency. I blog over at Hi! It’s Jilly, where I share crafts, recipes, projects, and stories from our life.
How do you balance blogging and family time?
I usually only blog during the day while the kids are at school, or at night after the kids go to bed. I try to schedule social media posts in the morning so I can stay off my phone after the kids come home from school. (I’m still on it too much, though!)
Do you have a blogging schedule? or just write as you feel inspired? Share what works for you and why!
Previously I didn’t have any kind of blogging schedule. I’d have a few ideas swirling around in my head and would post them whenever. The beginning of this year I made an editorial calendar and penciled in posts throughout the year. Even though I haven’t posted everything on the days I’d planned to, it’s nice to have a bit more focus and be able to see visually what I’m doing when. I also keep a running list of post ideas in the front of the binder where I keep my blog calendar.
Do you have any pieces of advice for other bloggers?
My advice would be to remember why you started your blog and to not let yourself get carried away trying to “keep up with the Joneses”. Also, get to know other bloggers by commenting on their posts and sharing their content. I’ve met so many awesome people through blogging! Joining blogger groups on Facebook can be a big help, too.

Hey Jillian! So great to “meet” you! 😉
You are so right about not trying to keep up with the Joneses. Some blog seem to be all about “perfection”. Except for my family, there is very little in my house that is perfect! 😉

It’s nice to “meet” you, too! Nothing is perfect in our family, either! 😀
