I’m Amber Kristine and I’m a young single mom studying to work in the medical field with children. I have a 2 year old at home and love every second of it! I generally write about informational parenting topics. Parenting blogs are really over saturated so I have my own twist that I haven’t seen before. I’m really passionate about anything parenting and love to spread useful information that’s important!
What are your top 3 blogging goals? and how are you striving to reach them?
I’m a very new blogger so my list of goals are seriously endless. I’m always reading new information on blogging (including at BOTS) so my list continues to grow. I’ve definitely already came a long way in these short 4 months.
My most important goal though is to spread important information. I talk about everything from our favorite toy at Christmas, why you should be breastfeeding, and How to pick out child care. I have so many topics stored in my noggin that will be appearing on the blog before you know it! (Seriously, my blog ideas list is a total count of 59 right now. I don’t think I’ll be running out anytime soon.) I actively blog everyday and post every Tuesday. I’m try to be very active on social media and present new posts in a way to catch attention.
I really want to increase my blog traffic in the coming months. My current goal is to reach 1,000 views per month by the end of the summer. It’s a small goal and very reachable I’m hoping! To reach this I read lots of posts on increasing traffic, maintain a presence on social media, comment to others posts, utilize good SEO and write amazing content.
Lastly, I want this to be a big income source in the future. I’m a single mom and I work my but off in retail to provide for my son who isn’t with me everyday and I’d love the chance to see that bubbly little boy a little more. I’m trying to reach this by having multiple income sources active on my blog. While I don’t have a lot of traffic yet, it’ll be there waiting to be utilized when I do!
What is your blogging inspiration?
My biggest inspiration – other bloggers. This can be in the form of great articles, friendly people, or even income reports. Watching Lindsay and Bjork from Pinch of Yum has been a huge inspiration for over a year now. They’ve came such a long way and are amazing at what they do! But more than just those two inspire me! Reading other parents articles from their blogs is a huge inspiration for me to share my own views as well! It just gets my blogging juices flowing!
Do you have a blogging schedule? or just write as you feel inspired? Share what works for you and why!
Yes, I do have a blogging schedule. Right now I just post once a week, every Tuesday. I want to start small so I know I can deliver. In the future I may consider posting up to 5 days a week.
I’m really crunched on time, so I will work on posts for a couple hours at night when I get home from work. I try to stay at least a week ahead so I’m not stressing out trying to get them done on time. I’ve started writing the draft and then editing and formatting later during the week. It gets too distracting obsessing over the details like photos I’ll use or making sure headlines have good SEO.
Every Sunday I’ll schedule a week of social media posts using HootSuite as well. During the week I’ll check twitter, facebook, and pinterest and respond to other bloggers here and there. But I don’t have to worry about things getting posted if I get called into work or something so that’s nice.
I’m very electronically savvy so I use an excel sheet on google docs to keep track of my blogging. I utilize multiple tabs with an editorial calender, income tracker (not yet being used), blog post ideas, link parties, and a daily social media checklist. It really helps keep my blogging schedule on track.

I found your site through Pintrest and my goodness has it been a huge source of inspiration and information, thank you so much!
I love Amber’s take on it. I’ve been blogging 5 years on my current blog, way longer before that as an angsty teen, and in the past 2 weeks when I started to take this seriously I’ve learned so much!
I’m definitely going to use Amber’s tips of utilizing a blogging calendar and scheduling posts ahead of time.

I’m really impressed along with your writing abilities as neatly as with
the layout to your weblog. Is that this a paid subject matter or did you modify it yourself?
Anyway stay up the nice high quality writing, it’s rare to look a nice blog like this one these days..
