Today we’re interviewing Leigh Anne from Houseologie.com – If you want to be interviewed for a future feature, feel free to email us at Bloggingontheside@gmail.com
I’m Leigh Anne and I blog over at Houseologie. My family and I live in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia! I look at my house as a study in house and home. I don’t think you can ever know it all but it’s fun to learn along the way. I love interior design and decorating my 1956 two-story home on a budget. I’m DIY’ing my way there and I hope to inspire other families to make their home a place they love to be. I think if someone else can do it, we certainly can too!
**What are your top 3 blogging goals? and how are you striving to reach them?
My top three blogging goals are
1. to grow my blog. I’m a new blogger so this is my #1 priority right now. To do this I am posting regularly and interacting on every social media platform known to man (and geeeeez, there are a lot!!!)
2. Finding a group of bloggers (a tribe!) to grow with and lean on. To do this I’m actively reaching out to other bloggers in my niche and asking them to join me! That makes me nervous but so far so good
3. To monetize my blog in order to earn a decent income to provide for my family without working outside of the home. This sort of ties in to #1, I’m growing my readership in order to be able to monetize down the road.
**Do you have a blogging schedule? or just write as you feel inspired? Share what works for you and why!
I’m a WAHM so I am really busy and as you other moms know, we wear many hats. I try to Publish 3 blog posts a week — usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Sometimes that gets a little switched around if I’m Co-hosting link parties or giveaways. I typically schedule the projects I want to complete and post about 1-2 weeks in advance. If I don’t do this I find myself feeling a little panicked. This works to keep me motivated and on track. As a creative, I can get distracted by the newest project a little too easily!
**Share a link to your favorite post you’ve ever written. Why is it your favorite?
These DIY Painted Ikea Curtains are my absolute favorite project and post to date. The project itself was very easy and cost me less than $5. It has been featured 9 different times so far and that makes me feel GREAT. This post validated my blog efforts. When people started to feature them and comment on my blog telling me how much they love them and how they are going to make some for their home it validated all of my passion for decorating and blogging. It feels great to know that more people than just your big brother likes and believes in you! This post is when I realized just how welcoming the blogging community is!
