How to find group boards on Pinterest

Have you ever wondered how to find good group boards on Pinterest?

This question baffled me for a long time until some one (I don’t remember who or I’d totally give them the credit for showing me) told me about PinGroupie.com

find huge group boards

It’s a great site that lists EVERY group board on Pinterest. I believe them when they say this, because my group boards were all listed, even before I had ever heard of the site!

Below is a screenshot from the site so I can show you a couple features and how it works. Using the tabs on the top you can filter and select exactly the type of board you want to find. For this search I chose the DIY/Craft category, and selected to sort by # of followers (because I want to find group boards with LOTS of followers) and sorted descending (so the boards with the most followers will be listed first). After making these selections, I clicked the filter button on the right and got the following options (with several more pages to scroll through that didn’t fit in the screenshot).

To the left there are click-able links to each specific board. If you click the person icon to the right of the board name, it will take you to the board-owners Pinterst profile so that you can follow the owner. You must follow board owners in order for them to be able to add you to a group board, so that helps you get one step ahead for later if you want to try to join a board. Next, you can hover your mouse over each “description” button to see if there are any rules for joining the boards. When boards are open for new contributors they will say so, and also disclose how to ask to join the board.

Some board owners require that you pin a minimum number of their pins before they add you, others just ask for an email or comment and will add you right away. Read through the descriptions until you find on that is open to contributors that you feel comfortable joining, and go for it!

This can be a tedious process but I’ve been connected to several HUGE boards that I never would have found without this site. Since I only have about 8,000 followers on my Pinterest account it’s amazing exposure to be added to a board with 100,000 followers or more.

Be careful to follow all the board rules so you don’t get kicked off once you are on, and have fun!

Do you have any Pinterest group boards, or have you joined some? What is your favorite part of group pinning?
