I used to be a “night before” blogger, and sometimes I still am. I would stay up late and write my post to go live at midnight. I want to tell you how freeing it is to just write the posts when you have a lot of time and schedule them for a full month! Today I challenge you to write in advance.
Here are some tips:
1- LESS STRESS! It is so much less stressful to do this! I started by taking a full Saturday (well, about five hours) and just going to Starbucks. I did not get on Facebook or e-mails and I just wrote.
2- Get the sponsored posts out of the way.
If you have sponsored posts due, try to do them the day that they come in. Do as much as you can, so that later, you will not be frazzled to finish them. Schedule them for as far in advance as you need!
3- Do you have the Calendar plug-in? It is a MUST in my eyes! I would be lost without it!
I am scheduled until the middle of September right now (1-2 posts every day) for Your Modern Family and it feels fantastic! What pushed me to do this? My vacation! I had to schedule a week ahead, so I just went ahead & kept on going.
Seriously- try it! Even if you just try a week ahead. This is my challenge to you. (Challenges are big right now, so what is one more added to your list?!) Start this weekend or start right now. Plan out the rest of your week. Turn off ALL social media and just write!
The freedom that I feel is great. I actually am taking a full week off from the computer because I prescheduled my Facebook posts, too! Exciting! haha!!
Maybe I’ll go on a date with my husband…
Or just hang out with these cuties…
What will you do when you have FREE TIME?!
What do you think?
Challenge accepted! I have a medical procedure scheduled for next week – so I will be off work for four days… and I was going to spend the time writing my ebook – but I will also take some time to get ahead… THANK YOU FOR THE CHALLENGE!
I think I can do that! I may be taking on a full time job. This is something that I really need to learn!
This sounds really great Becky! Although I sometimes write a post and use it later I haven’t really started scheduling and writing posts in advance regularly.
Question: What do you use for a calendar plug-in?
Really loving your blog and feeling very inspired. 🙂
I accept that challenge too. I am currently in the process of organizing my giant fiasco and I am going to push past my bad habits and develop new, productive habits. Thank you for your post. It was just the advice I needed to read this weekend!
I need to start doing this! I’d love to hear more about the calendar plugin too. thanks 🙂
I am so doing this! As soon as my little starts preschool, I’m headed to Starbucks too!

Thank you so much! I have been meaning to do this for over a month now. This is the extra push I needed!
