BTI May Income Report

Ok, first I’m really sorry I’m negligent to do these every month. I know they are fun and every one wants to read them…but honestly? I forget to do it. Every. Single. Time. Ack!

Becky shared hers today and I think we can all agree it is ridiculously inspiring!!! The things she is doing on YMF are outstanding. If you look at that and wonder how much of that is attainable for you to do when you aren’t able to put as much time into as she does…we bring you the BTI income report.

part time bloggers income

While I am a full-time blogger, I spend minimal hours on my  personal site (Beauty Through Imperfection). I work a lot of hours for Holly and the team at Kids Activities blog. I work here, I have a fourth small site that my sister and law and I are experimenting with, and (because I am a little bit crazy) another shared site that will be launching soon.

I don’t like to sit still, and the way I divide my work up reflects that. Hah!

I hope this income report is encouraging for those of you who don’t have as much time to offer your site. Maybe you work another job, homeschool your kids or have other things tying up your time. You can still do a LOT with part time hours, if you put your time in to the right places!

Realistically, you probably won’t see results like Becky’s unless you are putting in a lot of time. It takes so much work and effort to be a blogger (we all know how true that is), but just because your site is smaller or you have fewer available hours, does not mean you can’t create and reach your own dreams and goals with what you have!

This report is only what comes in on my BTI site. I put about 6-10 hours each week into this site.

PVs for May 2015 – 368,200

Income – $4,236

  • Sponsored posts – $1,655 (Clever girls, Izea, cooperatize, acorn influence, moms central)
  • Sponsored social – $195
  • Affiliate – $303
  • Ads – $1,636 (adthrive)
  • Ebook sales – $316
  • Print book sales – $131

Extra:

A few products – soaps, toys for the kids, snacks…

A $150 amazon gift card – I usually don’t do the posts for gift cards, but my husband has had his eye on a expensive coffee grinder for the fancy coffee that he likes to make, so I took a couple small jobs to surprise him with that…the joys of blogging! I love that I can do little things like that!!!

Expense payouts for my VAs, hosting, images, and so forth was around $400 for the month. It’s a large chunk of change, but honestly paying the VAs is one of my favorite parts. It kinda thrills me to be able to help other people reach their goals and dreams in a small way through my little site.

I hope this is encouraging to you! If you are ever wondering how our tips on the blog and in our books would translate out if people were putting in fewer hours, I hope this encourages you that you can still make a good amount of money on your blog, once you’ve built up your following! The important thing is to work hard…in the right directions so you are making the most of the time that you do have to invest into your site.

Becky, Holly and I took the time to make these books and this site, because we REALLY want to see you reach your dreams and your financial goals. Blogging is amazing, even though we each do it in different ways and for different reasons, but we all come together and share this awesome job that we LOVE.
